From the brand ABOUT SUCCULENTS BOX, our business began with our love for succulents. We offer more than 300 varieties and 6 types of monthly subscriptions. All our succulents are fully rooted and grown locally in CA, carefully handpicked and packed by the Succulents Box team. Succulents thrive beautifully in poor soils and low-water conditions, making them a wonderful choice to minimize our carbon footprint on planet earth. Succulents make a very sustainable gift as they will continue growing for years to come.
Imagine a hanging basket of our stunning and unusual Burrito/ Sedum Morganianum succulents, also known as Burro's Tail. This fragile yet low-maintenance houseplant is perfect for any living space. Growing Burro's Tail is a great way to save water and spruce up your home, as it is uniquely sourced from the best nurseries in California.
Upon arrival, open the box and place the plant on an airy and sunny windowsill, refraining from watering for the first 1-3 days to slowly introduce it to your home conditions. These fully rooted succulents are sustainably sourced from certified farms across CA and delivered to your door.
You'll receive a box of our beautiful Burrito/ Sedum Morganianum Plant, rooted for a minimum of 12-16 weeks. All our succulents are carefully handpicked and packed by the Succulents Box team, with love.
To propagate Burro's Tail, you will need to cut the stems and strip off the leaves from the bottom, leaving it for two weeks to get the stripped part callus over. You can also propagate it with leaf cuttings, pinning down a plumpy leaf in well-drained soil and keeping it slightly moist until it roots. Burro's tail plants can tolerate periods of drought, but new potential plants need to be kept slightly moist.
Burro's Tail grown indoors rarely blooms, but moving it outdoors in summer, keeping it at cooler temperatures in the winter (50ºFs and 60ºFs), and giving it lots of bright light during spring may promote flowering. The plants must be mature with stems reaching at least 10" before having flowers.
Burro's Tail can be grown both indoors and outdoors, as long as you provide it with sufficient sunlight. It grows best when exposed to plenty of bright sunlight, but can also be grown indoors with the right conditions. Unlike many types of succulents, Burro's Tail needs a considerable amount of water to keep the leaves attractive and plump. Soak its soil thoroughly and do not water it again until the topsoil dries out completely.
This plant is not poisonous to people, cats, or dogs, but it's still best to keep it away from animals and young children, as snacking on it can stunt its growth. The most common issue is root rot due to overwatering, and it may also have a few pest problems, such as mealybugs.
Your plant will be shipped bare-root in a sturdy box to ensure its safety. If you want to receive the plastic pot & soil, please leave a note in your order. When opening your package, some soil may be loose in the box. If your area is cold (under 40 degrees), we recommend purchasing a winter heat pack to ensure your plant(s) arrive safely.
We guarantee the plant's safe arrival, and if there are any issues, we will gladly offer a replacement. We always try our best to accommodate you.
