Multicolored Rose Flower Seeds for Gardeners

We prepare a substrate suitable for seed germination using materials such as tissue napkins, paper towels, cotton swabs, or any other moisture-retaining medium. The substrate is moistened with a hydrogen peroxide solution, and the seeds are placed on it in a single layer, then covered with the same substrate.

The entire structure is placed in a plastic container or bag and stored in the lower part of the refrigerator (vegetable compartment), where the temperature is maintained between 5-7°C. This stratification process lasts approximately 2 months, during which time the contents of the package are periodically ventilated, and the seeds and substrate are inspected and moisturized as needed.

Once the seeds have sprouted, we transplant them into seedling pots or peat tablets. The optimal temperature for growing roses from seed is 18-20°C. To protect the seedlings from damping-off, we provide them with good lighting for at least 10 hours per day, and the surface of the soil in the pots is topped with a thin layer of perlite.

The delicate rose sprouts require moderate watering, as excess moisture can lead to the death of the seedlings. To ensure the development of the root system, the first buds need to be allowed to break. The pots with the seedlings are then placed in a well-lit, but shaded location, gradually increasing the time the seedlings are exposed to open air.
